Incorporated February 21, 1867, Mars Hill sits less than two miles from the Canadian border in New Brunswick. The town is home to Mars Hill Mountain — where the sunrise is visible first in the United States for much of the year — and features a section of the International Appalachian Trail, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and ATV trails. Mars Hill is also home to New England's first wind farm, Big Rock Ski Resort, and an 18-hole country club.
